Walking with Nature Spirits

Walking with Nature Spirits

I had an unusual experience several years ago when I was walking along the creek bed behind my house and found a pretty pink stone I liked. I didn't want to carry it around, so I gently tossed it up on the grassy bank to retrieve later. I walked around a bit, then when I went to retrieve the stone, I couldn't find it. The vivid pink should have stood out easily against the low, green grass.

I really wanted to find that stone, so I said something like, "If there are any spirits here who can help me find the stone, please help now." Then I looked down again, and there it was, clear as day! Then I became aware of a little being standing there watching me and I figured he had helped. He was around 3 feet tall and was monochrome brown all over - from the tip of his cap to his shoes. His skin and clothes were all the same shade of brown. Before I picked up the stone, I asked if I could have it with no strings attached and he answered yes telepathically. But when I picked the stone up, I had the urge, most likely coming from him, to take the stone to my spring grove and stick it in a hole in this one special tree there. When I checked back several months later, the stone was gone.

I have no idea what kind of spirit that was. Because of his color, I thought of a brownie, but because of his connection with the stone, he could be a gnome. I only saw him that one time.

I had another experience years before that one when I fell while hiking on a mountain with a boyfriend and broke my leg and ankle. He left me to get help, and I was alone and completely helpless when a horsefly started dive-bombing me. For those who live where these obnoxious bugs don't, they are large, extremely aggressive, biting flies. I hate anything that stings or bites and couldn't run away from it so was VERY upset. I sent out a quick prayer for help, and that fly disappeared - instantly! So I feel I had spirit help there, too.

Another interesting experience involved a honeybee. I decided to smudge my property so I took a sage smudge stick, lit it, and walked the perimeter of my property. At the beginning of my walk, I noticed a honeybee flying next to me. I considered swatting it away, but decided it meant no harm. That bee flew right beside me the whole time I walked the perimeter of my 10 acres! I don't know whether he (or she?) was attracted to the smoke, was just curious, or was a spirit that wanted to accompany my little smudging ritual. I have smudged and walked the land several times, but that was the only time a bee spirit joined me.

So Blessed Bee,
